How does the 0% platform fee really work?
We don’t take a cut of the booking. Your customer’s card is charged via Stripe; Stripe takes their standard processing fee (1.75% + 30¢ AUD); the rest lands in your account on Stripe’s standard payout schedule. We’re a tool, not a marketplace.
How do payments reach me?
Through Stripe Connect direct-charge. You connect your own Stripe account (5-minute Express onboarding with your real ABN and bank details). Customer-facing card statements show your business name. We never hold or route the funds.
What happens when a customer cancels?
You set the policy. Default is 24h notice with a configurable late fee (fixed-$ or %-of-service). Outside the window, the booking auto-refunds in full. Inside the window, Book’d Out auto-refunds the booking minus the late fee. You can also issue a manual refund anytime from the admin.
Can I move from Fresha or Schedulista?
Yes. We’ll help you stand up the Book’d Out side without breaking your existing flow. Once you’re ready, point your existing booking link (or a redirect from your old platform) at bookdout.com/book/yours. Cutover takes a day or two end-to-end.
Where does my customer data sit?
In Sydney, Australia. Book’d Out is hosted on Fly’s SYD region and we comply with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) and the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme. Customer health information stays in AU — relevant for psychologists, physios and other regulated practitioners.
